dining facility

This corporate Dining Facility was designed to be a convertible space; a commissary for employees during the day, and occasionally the dining room portion became an event space at other times. Banquettes and dividers were all movable. A rolled up scrim comes down out of the top of an open gridded divider between the Servery and Dining Room, screening off the Servery when there are special functions in the Dining Room. The greenhouse design provides an open and outdoor feel to the space. Stainless steel, glass and white terrazzo create a bright palette of materials in the Servery. In the Dining Room, horizontal paintings of Texas landmarks by Constance Mallinson alternate with bold colored panels lining the top of the divider walls, creating a colorful dynamic graphic band from a distance and intriguing detailed paintings when viewed at close range.
